The following information outlines the fees and charges for psychological and related services. This is based on the national schedule set by the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Dr Bate endeavors to set Practice fees below the current recommended rates. Prices do not include GST. This schedule is valid from July 2024.

Dr Karina Bate Clinical & Health Psychology is not a Bulk Billing clinic.

Third Party Claims such as NDIS, insurance are not able to be processed. We are happy to issue you with an invoice to allow you to claim directly.

Letters, Reports & Phone Calls

Letters and reports attract a fee commensurate with the APS Recommended Fees (currently set at $311 + GST per hour)
Final report costs include a number of professional and administrative tasks and processes.
There is no charge for standard Medicare reports required in the normal course of treatment.
Phone calls (>10mins) attract the APS recommended fee, pro rata.

Late Cancellation Policy

There is longstanding high demand for Psychology services. The Practice continues to incur costs in the event of cancellations. Our cancellation policy is strictly observed. A cancellation/reschedule fee will apply to appointments that cannot be filled from the waitlist without 48 business hours' notice.

Late Cancellation Fees:

A 50% of the consultation fee will apply for cancellations 24-48 hours from the time of the appointment that are unable to be filled from the waitlist.

The full consultation fee (100%) will apply for cancellations within 24 hours or same day/no-show that are unable to be filled from the waitlist.

Please note:

Medicare and private health rebates cannot be applied to cancellation fees.

Medicare

You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate - please ask your GP or Psychiatrist.

With a valid “Mental Health Care Plan” from your GP or referral from your Psychiatrist under Better Access, you are eligible for a rebate of $141.85, for up to 10 sessions each year. (Gap fee = $158.15 per session).

With a valid “Eating Disorders Plan” from your GP and Psychiatrist, you receive a rebate of $141.85 per session for 40 sessions in a 12-month period. (Gap fee = $158.15 per session).

With a valid “Chronic Disease Management Plan” you receive a rebate of $58.00 for a maximum of 4 sessions per calendar year (Gap fee of $242.00).

Private health insurance

If you have private health insurance, you may also qualify for a rebate through your fund. Please speak with your private health fund directly to determine your eligibility.

Please note that you cannot claim both Medicare and Private Health rebates for the same session. Private health insurance rebates will need to be claimed directly with your insurer.
